Our Approach to AI in Hiring

At Mile Two, applications are reviewed by real people—not filtered out by bots. Authenticity matters more than keyword tricks.

We know you're probably using AI tools to help draft or polish your resumes, and that’s fine! We're using AI to write this blurb about AI! But we expect you to make it your own. Resumes that feel copy-pasted I —repetitive, oddly phrased, “too perfect” matches to our job description— may hurt your chances. Adding personal touches and real examples of your work will make your application stronger.

We look forward to meeting the real you!

A Note About Our Application Process

Please answer our screener questions honestly and thoroughly (rather than writing “see resume”). These are reviewed by real people—not bots—and play an important role in our selection process. Thoughtful responses will strengthen your application.

Position Overview

The Solution Architect plays a critical leadership role in developing innovative, compliant, and competitive technical solutions for federal contracting opportunities, serving as the Growth Team’s primary technical integrator and a key partner to Capture Managers, Technical Leads, Proposal Managers, and Operations teams. This individual drives the end-to-end solution design process- from shaping strategy and architecture to developing compelling proposal narratives that clearly articulate how the company delivers mission impact.

Reporting to the VP of Growth, the Solution Architect ensures all technical approaches align with corporate strategy and portfolio capabilities while synthesizing SME input into cohesive, customer-ready solution architectures. The role partners closely with Capture Managers to co-develop solution strategies, discriminators, and win themes, and works across proposal and delivery stakeholders to produce compliant, persuasive technical content, visuals, and supporting materials. Through this cross-functional engagement, the Solution Architect serves as the connective tissue between business development, technical execution, and corporate strategy, helping ensure each pursuit reflects both customer mission needs and the company’s most differentiating capabilities.

This position requires a unique balance of technical depth, creative problem-solving, and business acumen. The Solution Architect helps shape the company’s solution strategy, informs enterprise technical direction, and contributes directly to growth, differentiation, and the overall strength of the company’s portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

-Partner with Capture Managers to define solution strategy, discriminators, and win themes early in the capture lifecycle.
-Collaborate with Technical Leads and SMEs to design and document realistic, innovative architectures, concepts of operations (CONOPS/OV-1s), and delivery models for proposals, white papers, and other deliverables.
-Translate technical concepts into clear, persuasive written narratives, diagrams, and visuals for proposal volumes, presentations, and customer briefings.
-Author and edit technical solution content across proposals, white papers, marketing materials, and capability statements to ensure clarity, consistency, and alignment with corporate voice.
-Support business development engagements, including client briefings, industry days, and technical exchange meetings, representing the company’s solution vision and technical capabilities.
-Develop tailored technical talking points, solution summaries, and briefing materials that enable effective customer and partner conversations.
-Lead the technical storyboarding process, connecting operational need, technical approach, and customer outcomes.
-Support Basis of Estimate (BOE) development, staffing plans, and level-of-effort assessments in coordination with Operations and Pricing teams.
-Maintain and enhance solution libraries, reusable content, and technical templates to improve consistency and efficiency across pursuits.
-Conduct market and technology research to identify emerging tools, frameworks, and trends relevant to customer missions (e.g., Zero Trust, Cloud, AI/ML, DevSecOps).
-Participate in color team reviews and incorporate feedback to strengthen technical clarity and competitiveness.
-Interface with the Technical Steering Group (TSG) to align capture and proposal efforts with enterprise technical direction, identify capability gaps, and relay market insights to inform R&D and innovation priorities.
-Provide strategic technical input to corporate goals and TGAs (Traction), advising on technical investments, solution maturity, and capability development priorities that advance growth objectives.
-Support internal solution reviews, demonstrations, and capture readouts that communicate proposed approaches to executives and stakeholders.

Requirements
