Job Description:
The Network Software Engineer provides technical expertise and operational support to a U.S. Government Network and Telecommunications Engineering Services organization, supporting the configuration, integration, optimization, and daily operation of enterprise network automation and monitoring tools across unclassified and classified environments. The role involves defining technical specifications for complex network software systems and configuring, testing, modifying, and maintaining enterprise monitoring and management applications to ensure high availability, security compliance, and mission continuity.
The engineer designs and supports monitoring and automation solutions for LAN/WAN infrastructure, integrating commercial off-the-shelf tools across heterogeneous environments. The engineer integrates systems using industry-standard protocols and interfaces, including SNMPv3, APIs, NETCONF, and automated discovery mechanisms, to ensure accurate data collection and interoperability.
Responsibilities also include implementing U.S. Government–mandated security controls such as CAC authentication, certificates, SSO, and MFA; ensuring compliance with cybersecurity policies and STIGs; and collaborating with government and contractor stakeholders on technical planning, documentation, deployment, and sustainment activities.
Qualifications (Must Haves):
• Five (5) years of Networking / LAN experience
• DoD Approved 8570 Baseline Certification: IAT-II
