Our Mission Management engineers design, develop, and integrate software that powers the flight control, navigation, sensor fusion, and communications subsystems of cutting edge unmanned aircraft. WHAT YOU'LL DO
You will support the development and maintenance of platform-level software used by ISR and UAS systems. You will assist with building and maintaining deployable system images and runtime environments, helping bundle operating system components, middleware, and platform services into validated volumes. You will work with software, systems, and security teams to support reliable and repeatable infrastructure software.

Basic Qualifications:
Must be a US Citizen. This position is located at a facility that requires special access and a Secret clearance updated within the last 6 years to be considered.
Desired Skills:

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week

YOUR IMPACT

Key Responsibilities:
- Support development and maintenance of deployable system images
- Assist with integrating middleware and system services into runtime volumes
- Support configuration management and system initialization tasks
- Develop and maintain scripts to assist with image creation and validation
- Support integration and deployment activities in lab and test environments
- Participate in peer code reviews and technical discussions
Travel up to 10% may be required.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience)
- Experience with the software development process in a team environment (peer reviews, unit testing, configuration management, defect tracking)
- Experience in C++, Bash shell, or Python
- Experience with Linux operating systems (Red Hat preferred)
- Familiarity with GitLab CI/CD pipelines for automated builds, tests, and deployments

- Experience building and debugging applications in Linux based development environments
- Exposure to build environments and tools such as Make and CMake
- Exposure to hardware and software integration
- Exposure to scripting, automation, or build tooling
- Exposure to version control systems and team-based development workflows
- Familiarity with Agile workflow tools and collaborative version-control practices (Git, JIRA, Confluence, etc.)
- Willingness to learn and work in complex software environments
- Current Security+ certification or the ability to obtain it
