You will be an Industrial Hygienist with our Missiles and Fire Control (MFC) Orlando Environmental Safety and Health (ESH) team, supporting program development, oversight, and management. You will closely interface with other MFC departments and functional ESH staff on multiple areas of engagement and cross-functional support of the business while driving continual improvement and innovative solutions.

What You Will Be Doing

As the Industrial Hygienist you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing industrial hygiene programs that protect our workforce and support continuous improvement.

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Interpret, recommend, and comply with OSHA, ACGIH, state/local regulations and company policies

  • Create and execute the site's industrial hygiene sampling plan

  • Interpret exposure monitoring results, develop appropriate recommendations to control exposures

  • Recognize and investigate the potential for health effects associated with chemical agents

  • Manage radiation and laser safety compliance programs

  • Represent MFC Orlando on Working Groups and other specialty assignments upon request

  • Investigate close call/near-miss incidents for the facility

  • Conduct work area job hazard assessments

MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN - This position is located at a facility that requires special access. The selected candidate must be able to obtain a Secret clearance.

Basic Qualifications:
• Formal education in industrial hygiene principles
• Related experience supporting research and development, industrial operations, and production environments
• Demonstrated project management skills
• Proven ability to identify hazards associated with processes and perform root cause analysis
• Experienced technical report writing
• Lean process orientation with experience using lean six sigma tools or similar continuous improvement tools
• Ability to identify an issue, provide solutions and communicate insights to customers and leadership on appropriate courses of action relative to employee safety and health
• Experience with regulator engagement, response, and corrective/preventive actions
• Experience with company-wide program development, sampling strategy, and communication across multiple locations
• Experience presenting to various levels of an organization and ability to adjust the message depending on the audience
• Strong communication skills with an orientation to a positive customer experience
• Experienced trainer
• Demonstrate initiative to work independently with a proactive attitude
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship
Desired Skills:
• Radiation and laser safety compliance management
• Lean oriented individual that is aligned to a team environment and open to growth in other disciplines outside of industrial hygiene
• Experience working with common, industry recognized, management systems such as ISO 14001, ISO 45001, VPP, etc.
• Proven ability to innovate for improving program effectiveness
• Budget management and financial acumen
• Lean six sigma black belt or green belt
• Pursuit of industry recognized certifications in the Safety, Health or Environmental disciplines
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
