Key Responsibilities:
- Review, edit, and validate security guidance and requirements governing cross-domain solutions (CDSs) to ensure they are technically sound, internally consistent, and enforceable by system security assessment activities.
- Assess and refine official guidance language related to data filtering, content inspection, and file blocking requirements to clearly articulate expectations for malware prevention and data protection.
- Ensure security guidance accurately conveys core system security principles and control intent, enabling consistent and compliant implementation across CDS community development efforts.
- Provide insight into the establishment and updating of CDS development requirements, coordinating with cybersecurity, engineering, and compliance authorities to resolve ambiguity and maintain authoritative, developer-ready guidance.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science or related discipline and 12 years of directly related experience or a Master's degree and 10 years of directly related experience, or a PhD and 8 years of directly related experience.
- Analyze user's requirements, concept of operations documents, and high-level system architectures to develop system requirements specifications.
- Analyze system requirements and lead design and development activities.
- Guide users in formulating requirements, advise alternative approaches, and conduct feasibility studies.
- Provide technical leadership for the integration of requirements, designs, and technology. Incorporate new plans, designs and systems into ongoing operations.
- Develop technical documentation.
- Develop system architecture and system design documentation.
- Guide system development and implementation planning through assessment or preparation of system engineering management plans and system integration and test plans.
- Interact with the Government regarding Systems Engineering technical considerations and for associated problems, issues or conflicts.
- Ultimate responsibility for the technical integrity of work performed and deliverables associated with the Systems Engineering area of responsibility.
- Communicate with other program personnel, government overseers, and senior executives.
- Fourteen (14) years' experience as an ISSE on programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity within the Federal Government is preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Technical Certification as a Certified System Engineering Professional (CSEP) from INCOSE or DAWIA SPRDE Level 2
