Overview
VTG/APG is seeking an Agile Business Analyst (ABA) to support U.S. Air Forces Central (AFCENT) mission systems and enterprise capabilities. This role operates in an Agile (Scrum‑preferred) environment and works closely with product owners, engineers, and operational users to translate mission needs into clear, actionable requirements. The ABA is a key liaison between government stakeholders, operational users, and technical teams, ensuring delivered solutions are operationally relevant, technically feasible, and aligned to AFCENT priorities.
What will you do?
Must be able to work on-site at least 3 days per week
Collaborate with product owners, government stakeholders, and subject matter experts to elicit, analyze, and document business and operational requirements
Translate mission needs into well‑defined user stories, features, and acceptance criteria
Facilitate storyboarding, story mapping, backlog grooming, and refinement sessions
Perform detailed story analysis to define conditions of satisfaction and ensure acceptance criteria are clear, testable, and unambiguous
Manage the lifecycle of backlog items, including story decomposition and refinement
Support data analysis activities to assess system efficiency, effectiveness, and performance
Participate in functional, regression, and end‑to‑end testing, documenting findings and providing actionable feedback
Plan and execute User Acceptance Testing (UAT), to include test scenarios and script development, test execution, user onboarding and training, and production of release notes and test documentation
Maintain traceability between requirements, test cases, and delivered functionality
Participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives

Do you have what it takes?
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Working knowledge of Agile methodologies (Scrum preferred)
- Strong understanding of requirements management, quality assurance, and testing practices
- Experience operating in fast‑paced, mission‑focused, cross‑functional environments
- Ability to facilitate discussions and guide diverse stakeholders toward consensus
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey technical and non‑technical information clearly
- Demonstrated professionalism, initiative, and collaborative mindset
- Experience using Jira or similar Agile project management tools
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio)
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
- Preferred fields: Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or related disciplines
- 3+ years of professional experience in technical support, business analysis, and/or delivery role(s)
- Prior experience supporting enterprise IT, service desks, or mission systems is preferred
- US Citizenship required
- Active DoD Secret clearance required
- Ability to obtain and maintain TS/SCI eligibility
