Overview
We are seeking an experienced AWS Cloud Engineer to design, build, and support scalable, secure cloud infrastructure in Amazon Web Services (AWS). This role works closely with application teams, security, and operations to deliver reliable, automated, and high-performing cloud environments across development, test, and production.
The ideal candidate is hands-on, comfortable owning infrastructure end-to-end, and experienced in automation, cloud architecture, and operational support.
Responsibilities
Design, deploy, and manage cloud infrastructure in AWS.
Build and maintain environments using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar).
Support application teams with cloud architecture, deployments, and performance optimization.
Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation.
Configure and manage networking, IAM, security policies, and monitoring.
Manage services such as EC2, EKS, S3, RDS, VPC, IAM, ALB/NLB, and CloudFront.
Troubleshoot production issues and perform root cause analysis.
Ensure systems meet security, compliance, availability, and performance requirements.
Participate in architecture reviews, design discussions, and technical planning.
Optimize cloud cost, performance, and reliability.
Create and maintain technical documentation and operational procedures.
Required Qualifications
3+ years of experience in cloud engineering, infrastructure, or DevOps roles.
Strong hands-on experience with AWS.
Experience with core AWS services: EC2, VPC, IAM, S3, RDS, Load Balancers, Auto Scaling.
Strong experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform preferred, CloudFormation acceptable).
Experience building and supporting CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, etc.).
Solid understanding of networking, security, and cloud architecture best practices.
Experience with Linux systems and scripting (Bash, Python, etc.).
Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes/EKS).
Strong troubleshooting and operational support skills.
Preferred Qualifications
AWS certifications (Solutions Architect, SysOps, DevOps Engineer).
Experience in regulated or government environments.
Experience with monitoring and logging tools (CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, etc.).
Experience with DevSecOps practices.
Experience with multi-account AWS environments and landing zone architectures.
Familiarity with multi-cloud (Azure/GCP) or hybrid environments.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
