Overview
We are seeking a skilled GCP Engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable, secure cloud infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform. This role will work closely with application teams, security, and operations to support cloud-based systems across development, test, and production environments.
The ideal candidate is hands-on, comfortable owning infrastructure, and experienced in automating, securing, and optimizing cloud environments.
Responsibilities
Design, deploy, and manage cloud infrastructure in Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
Build and maintain environments using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Deployment Manager, or similar).
Support application teams with cloud architecture, deployments, and performance optimization.
Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines and cloud-native services.
Configure and manage networking, IAM, security policies, and monitoring.
Troubleshoot production issues and perform root cause analysis.
Ensure systems meet security, compliance, and performance requirements.
Participate in architecture reviews, design discussions, and technical planning.
Optimize cloud costs, performance, and reliability.
Document architecture, configurations, and operational procedures.
Required Qualifications
3+ years of experience in cloud engineering or infrastructure roles.
Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
Experience with services such as Compute Engine, GKE, Cloud Storage, Cloud SQL, VPC, IAM, and Load Balancing.
Strong experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform preferred).
Experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, or similar).
Strong understanding of networking, security, and cloud architecture principles.
Experience with Linux-based systems and scripting (Bash, Python, etc.).
Familiarity with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
Ability to troubleshoot complex infrastructure and application issues.
Preferred Qualifications
GCP certifications (Associate Cloud Engineer, Professional Cloud Architect, or similar).
Experience in regulated or government environments.
Experience with monitoring/logging tools (Cloud Monitoring, Prometheus, Grafana, etc.).
Experience with DevSecOps practices.
Knowledge of hybrid or multi-cloud environments (AWS/Azure).
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
