Job Description
OVERVIEW
The Information Systems Security Analyst (ISSA) provides cybersecurity engineering and operational security support for Navy networked systems in accordance with DoD and federal cybersecurity requirements. This role supports enterprise risk management, incident response, and secure system architecture initiatives.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Implement and manage cybersecurity controls to protect networked systems and data
Conduct risk assessments, vulnerability analysis, and threat identification
Support incident response, intrusion detection, and forensic analysis activities
Implement encryption, access control, and network defense mechanisms
Support disaster recovery and continuity of operations planning
Monitor system performance, availability, and security posture
Support compliance with federal cybersecurity laws, regulations, and policies
Assist with penetration testing, security assessments, and remediation activities
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum four (4) years of experience in cybersecurity
Strong knowledge of cybersecurity principles, threats, and vulnerabilities
Experience with encryption technologies (IPSEC, AES, GRE, IKE, MD5, SHA, 3DES)
Familiarity with network protocols (TCP/IP, OSI model)
Experience with intrusion detection, incident handling, and network traffic analysis
Understanding of cloud security architecture and deployment models
Active Secret clearance
Security+ or equivalent certification
PREFERRED CERTIFICATIONS
CISSP, CEH, or other DoD 8570/8140-compliant certifications
