Blu Omega is looking for a Scientific HCD Specialist to play a pivotal role in transforming biomedical research through human-centered design. Responsibilities:
- Engage with customers to understand their experiences, needs, and preferences through market research, usability testing, and various facilitation techniques.
- Develop and analyze user personas, journey maps, and insights to inform solution designs.
- Support the creation of implementation plans for customer service enhancements and digital solutions within biomedical research contexts.
- Facilitate design workshops and coordinate multiple workstreams, ensuring stakeholder expectations are aligned with technical and operational realities.
- Apply functional knowledge and industry best practices to develop design solutions for moderate-complexity challenges.
- Use prototyping tools (e.g., Mural, Adobe Photoshop, PowerPoint, Omnigraffle, Visio) to visualize and communicate design concepts.
- Incorporate generative AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini) to enhance human-centered design processes.
Qualifications:
- Minimum one year of experience in service design, design thinking, research, business design, customer interviews, or customer experience strategy.
- At least one year supporting government or non-profit entities within health and life sciences sectors.
- Proficiency in facilitation techniques, creating journey maps, and developing customer personas.
- Experience with implementation planning for digital products and services.
- Capable of client negotiation and managing expectations within real-world constraints.
- Skilled in prototyping and creative visualization to communicate research insights.
- Bachelor's degree in Arts, Science, or related field.
Nice to Have:
- Knowledge of cloud computing platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Familiarity with customer relationship management tools like Microsoft Dynamics or Zoho.
- Experience working on health and life sciences projects supporting federal agencies.
- Demonstrated experience with Generative AI technologies (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini) to support human-centered design initiatives.
- Master's degree in a relevant field.
