Job Description Summary
The Senior Security Manager will help launch new programs and support expanding programs at GE Aerospace, within continued oversight and ensuring compliance with government regulations and the National Industrial Security Program (NISP). This role is responsible for managing security policies, procedures, and programs to protect classified materials, secure facilities, and ensure operational excellence. The Senior Security Manager will collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement process improvements, conduct risk assessments, and provide security education and training.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities:

The Lead Security Specialist will:
  • Operate with autonomy to stand up and execute new programs in an expedient manner, while understanding customer needs and finding a way to meet deliverables, while maintaining compliance.
  • Ensure compliancewith all government regulatory requirements across the contracting and program lifecycle, with a focus on the National Industrial Security Program (NISP).
  • Manage physical and operational securityin accordance with 32 CFR part 117 and industrial security requirements.
  • Standardize processes and proceduresacross all collateral facilities to ensure consistency and efficiency.
  • Conduct security assessmentsand evaluations to ensure compliance with regulations for classified materials protection.
  • Develop and administer security policies, practices, and metrics to maintain a strong security posture.
  • Coordinate with ISSM/ISSOon classified IT systems, system accreditation, media control, and incident response.
  • Draft and maintain security documentation, including security plans, SOPs, and incident procedures.
  • Conduct self-reviews and risk assessments, developing mitigation plans and concepts of operations to address threats and vulnerabilities.
  • Support security reviews, including Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA) site visits and formal self-inspections.
  • Investigate security incidents, including NISP and Insider Threat indicators, and develop corrective action plans.


Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college, or a high school diploma/GED with a minimum of 4 years of industrial security experience.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in a NISP, government compliance, Department of Defense setting, or security function.
  • Clearance: Must possess an active Secret clearance.

  • Interpersonal Skills & Customer Service: Strong interpersonal abilities, effective networking and collaboration capabilities, and cultural competence. High emotional intelligence and self-awareness are essential for fostering a respectful approach to security operations.
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey security policies, procedures, and incident reports to stakeholders at all levels. Active listening & relationship building.
  • Project Management: The ability to plan, execute, and oversee security projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
