We are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to lead multiple managed accounting engagements for clients. RESPONSIBILITIES:
Client Engagement Leadership
- Serves as the primary BOOST point of contact and trusted advisor for the client's accounting operations.
- Leads the stand-up of a comprehensive managed accounting function, including process design, implementation, and optimization.
- Establishes and maintains strong relationships with client leadership and stakeholders.
- Develops and executes project plans with clear milestones and deliverables.
- Provides strategic guidance on accounting operations, internal controls, and compliance requirements.
- Leads conversations with clients regarding financial issues, process gaps, and compliance requirements with professionalism and confidence.
- Manages client expectations and ensure high satisfaction throughout the engagement.
- Monitors project budget, timelines, resources, and regulatory requirements to ensure successful delivery of services.
Accounting Operations Management for Client Engagements
- Oversee all aspects of client accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll processing.
- Establishes client month-end and year-end close processes and procedures in accordance with BOOST methods and established practices.
- Leads the preparation, review, and execution of financial reports, management reports, audits, KPI dashboards, and other deliverables to meet government contracting requirements.
- Ensures compliance with FAR/CAS requirements and DCAA audit readiness.
- Develops and implements internal controls and accounting policies.
- Manages cash flow, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
Team Leadership & Development
- Builds, mentors, and manages accounting team members supporting engagements.
- Delegates tasks effectively, ensuring team members have manageable workloads and are set up for success in meeting deadlines and client needs.
- Fosters a positive, team-oriented culture that encourages accountability, collaboration, continuous learning, and a commitment to excellence.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required Experience & Education:
- Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA, CGMA, or other relevant certifications preferred), or equivalent experience in a related field with at least 8+ years of hands-on, practical experience in accounting or finance, with a strong focus on government contracting, accounting, and compliance.
Required Knowledge & Skills:
- Strong working knowledge of GAAP, FAR/CAS compliance, and DCAA requirements.
- Functional proficiency in government contract accounting, including job costing, indirect rate structures, and billing processes.
- Track record of building accounting functions from scratch or through significant transformation.
- Demonstrated ability to lead client engagements and manage complex projects.
- Proven ability to build, lead, and mentor accounting teams.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with C-suite executives and stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to operate independently with confidence in ambiguous situations, while managing multiple priorities.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.
- Proficiency in Unanet, Microsoft Office Suite (advanced Excel required)
Work Authorization:
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
- Able to travel to client site as needed (estimated 10-20% travel during initial implementation phases, and strategic meetings after implementation)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience managing accounting operations for companies serving both government and commercial customers.
- Understanding of accounting operations for both services and product revenue models.
- Experience with multiple government contractor ERP systems (Unanet, Deltek Costpoint, SAP, etc.)
- Experience managing DCAA audits or incurred cost submissions.
- Project management experience.
- Experience in an accounting or consulting firm strongly preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Close vision required for computer work.

- Salary Range: $ 110,000 - $160,000 (commensurate with experience)
