About the Role
We’re seeking a dependable junior planner who thrives on execution and follow-through. This role is ideal for someone who likes clear tasking, tight deadlines, and being the person the team can rely on to keep planning efforts organized and moving forward. You will support senior planners and government leads by building briefings, tracking actions, capturing notes, coordinating inputs, and helping deliver planning products on time.

What You’ll Do
Track actions, suspense dates, and follow-ups to keep teams aligned and on schedule
Capture meeting notes and turn them into clear outputs (taskers, summaries, read-ahead)
Build, format, and refine briefings (PowerPoint) and written products (Word)
Support research and basic analysis to inform planning decisions
Draft and edit sections of planning products as directed (staff estimates, slides, plan/order inputs)
Coordinate across staff sections to gather inputs and ensure timely delivery
Maintain document organization and version control in government systems (SharePoint/Teams, etc.)
Support exercise planning tasks when needed (coordination, inject/MSEL support, AAR inputs)
What We’re Looking For
Required
4–6 years of experience in planning, operations, exercises, or staff support (military, civilian, or contractor)
Comfortable working in a structured environment with taskers, suspense dates, and quick turnarounds
Strong attention to detail and consistent follow-through
Clear written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency with PowerPoint and Word (ability to produce clean, professional products)
Active Secret clearance
Nice to Have (Not Required)
Familiarity with JP 5-0 and/or Joint Operational Planning Process (JOPP) concepts
Experience supporting OPT/JPT efforts, exercises, or higher headquarters staff work
Exposure to OPORD/FRAGORD/CONPLAN/OPLAN products
Comfortable using collaboration tools and shared workspaces (SharePoint/Teams)
