Summit Human Capital is seeking a highly motivated Network Engineer to support a federal government IT program. This position has the exciting opportunity to support the design, installation, and optimization of complex high-speed networks, ensuring reliable and efficient network operations. This position is local to the Pentagon. The ideal candidate will meet the following criteria:
Requirements:
• Eight (8) years of experience analyzing, identifying, and resolving complex network hardware, circuit, and transmission logic problems
• Experience in the design, installation, and acceptance testing of complex high-speed networks
• Applies principles of assessing and analyzing network transmission applications to resolve reported malfunctions
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science/systems, information systems/technology, engineering/engineering technology, software engineering/programming, management, natural sciences, social sciences, mathematics, or business/finance; or 11 years of relevant and progressive experience in lieu of degree
• Excellent communications skills
• Active Secret clearance, CCNA, and SEC+

• Experience supervising and directing support staff
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to advise network users on hardware requirements and configurations
Responsibilities:
• Perform engineering for new circuit installations, modifications, and deactivations
• Design and coordinate the installation and acceptance testing of system networks
• Monitor network hardware operations to ensure properly set configuration options
• Plan and implement enhancements and upgrades to the network, including performing cost/benefit studies and recommending improvements
• Direct acquisition, installation, and testing of network hardware
• Advise network users of hardware requirements, configurations, and limitations
• Isolate, resolve, or circumvent network problems
• May provide daily supervision and direction to support staff
