You will be the Environmental Engineer Staff for our Lockheed Martin Missiles & Fire Control (MFC) team in Grand Prairie, TX. Here, you will support a growing campus and workforce engaged in the research, design, test, production, assembly, and transportation of precision engagement aerospace and defense systems./p>

What You Will Be Doing

As the Environmental Engineer Staff you will be responsible for driving ESH (Environment, Safety & Health) compliance across our Grand Prairie campus and other business sites.

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Implement and manage compliance programs, including RCRA, air permitting, storm-water, and wastewater initiatives.

  • Support environmental program activities, program management, and overall actions associated with compliance and the prevention of noncompliant conditions.

  • Conduct audits, inspections, and investigations to identify gaps and recommend corrective actions.

  • Prepare and submit required reports and documentation to local, state, and federal agencies.

Shift: This position supports a 4X10 schedule (Monday-Thursday), however one to two Fridays per month will be required.

MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN - This position is located at a facility that requires special access. The selected candidate must be able to obtain a Secret clearance.
Basic Qualifications:
• Competent with regulatory and consensus standards including RCRA and DOT
• Experience reporting to and interfacing with Texas or Federal environmental and safety regulatory agencies
• Ability to interpret, apply, audit, and communicate (both orally and in writing) regulatory compliance requirements, across all levels of the organization
• Establish and maintain effective, productive customer relationships with customers at all levels of the organization.
• Proficient with computer-based tools and applications (Microsoft Office business programs)
• Bachelor's degree in ESH-related discipline with at least with 10 years of professional experience; or 8 years of professional experience with a related Master's degree
• Ability to obtain and hold a government secret security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship
Desired Skills:
• Experience with EPA standards highly preferred.
• Experience in Environmental, Safety & Health disciplines such as developing, collecting, maintaining and analyzing program documents, presenting metrics, evaluations and/or inspections, assessments, conducting training for ESH programs
• Excellent project management skills with an emphasis on developing innovative solutions to execute our allocated budget
• Knowledge of and experience with ESH management system elements, such as ISO 14001/45001; Lead auditor certification a plus
• CHMM or HAZWOPER certification is a plus
• Understanding of union environments and collective bargaining agreements
• Ability to make difficult decisions, solve complex issues and influence ESH cultural improvement
• Ability to respond to internal and external issues to maintain regulatory compliance and enhance the employee experience
• Experience authoring internal documents and program documentation
• Experience in change management and planning activities as they relate to ESH integration and considerations
• Lean Six Sigma green or black belt or other continuous improvement tools and techniques knowledge, including thorough root cause analysis and mistake-proofing processes
• Proficient in reporting and accounting tools used at the site, such as SAP and Lockheed Martin developed systems

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
