Markon's partner company is seeking an experienced Software Engineer to support the Fort Meade customer by transforming complex and disparate data into actionable insights. This position will design and develop analytics, automation, and repeatable processes to close knowledge gaps across user activities, collection efforts, and technology discovery. The role focuses on building data pipelines, scripts, and workflows to normalize, enrich, and analyze structured artifacts, delivering high-quality outputs that enable downstream analytics and directly support mission success.

Responsibilities

  • Leverage disparate structured data sources to identify patterns, fill knowledge gaps, and support mission-driven analysis.
  • Develop and implement analytics derived from collected artifacts, including enrichment using internal/corporate data sources.
  • Summarize findings and produce structured outputs to support downstream analytics, reporting, and querying.
  • Design and build scripts and lightweight frameworks to parse, normalize, process, and analyze structured data.
  • Integrate and deploy solutions into customer-supported tools to automate workflows and enable data/metadata analysis at scale.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional team members to refine requirements, troubleshoot issues, and improve solution performance.
  • Document processes and solutions to support maintainability and operational continuity.


Qualifications

  • Active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph with this customer
  • Education/Experience:
    • Bachelor's degree + 5 years of relevant experience OR
    • Master's degree + 3 years of relevant experience
    • (Additional combinations may be considered: Associate's degree + 7 years, OR HS diploma/GED + 9 years of relevant experience for highly qualified candidates.)
  • Degree in Computer Science or a related field (or equivalent relevant experience).
  • Proficiency in one or more object-oriented languages, such as:
    • Python, Java, and/or C++
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment, including collaborating with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred:
  • Experience with JavaScript and/or Spark analytics.
  • Familiarity with Jupyter Notebooks and/or GHOSTMACHINE.
  • Strong data handling skills, including parsing, normalization, and workflow automation.
  • Ability to translate raw data into meaningful summaries and usable analytic outputs.
  • Comfortable working in fast-paced environments requiring problem-solving and adaptability.


Salary Range

USD $100,000.00 - USD $210,000.00 /Yr.

The Markon pay range for this position is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
