We are seeking a BI Technical Lead to serve in a "player-coach" capacity. In this role, you will lead a specialized team of three analysts while remaining hands-on in the development of sophisticated reporting solutions. You will be responsible for overseeing the full lifecycle of data delivery-from technical research and data retrieval to the final design of management-level dashboards.
The ideal candidate is a subject matter expert in SQL environments who can translate complex data sets into actionable insights for senior stakeholders. You will manage team progress, ensure compliance with delivery milestones, and maintain high standards of data integrity.

Key Responsibilities
- Team Leadership: Direct, supervise, and mentor a small team of BI developers; review technical output and manage individual performance.
- Project Oversight: Monitor workflows and report on team progress to ensure all deliverables meet quality standards and timelines.
- Systems Design: Architect procedures for tracking and managing departmental duties, creating customized management reports that align with organizational priorities.
- Data Research: Conduct deep-dive technical research, including data verification, database retrieval, and compilation of case-related info from disparate records.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Communicate technical findings to executive leadership and cross-functional teams with a high degree of professionalism.
Experience & Education:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related quantitative field.
- Seniority: 10+ years of progressive experience as a BI Systems Analyst or Data Engineer.
- Leadership: 2+ years of experience leading a technical team of at least 2-3 developers.
- Clearance: Must have (or be able to obtain) a standard background investigation/public trust suitability.
Hard Skills:
- Advanced SQL: 5+ years of expert-level scripting (specifically within Oracle or similar enterprise RDBMS environments).
- Data Modeling: 5+ years of experience in report curation, data modeling, and schema design for large-scale enterprise or public sector clients.
- Tooling: Proficient with Framework Manager, SSMS, and enterprise reporting suites (e.g., Crystal Reports, Cognos, or Power BI).
- ETL & Architecture: Solid understanding of ETL processes, data warehousing concepts, and database design.
- Troubleshooting: Expert ability to analyze and debug complex, heterogeneous data sets.
- Project Management: Demonstrated ability to lead large, complex projects involving multiple integrated databases.
- Communication: Exceptional oral and written communication skills; ability to present technical roadmaps to non-technical management.
- Quality Control: Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to data accuracy under tight deadlines.
- Agility: A proactive, self-motivated worker who thrives in independent environments and handles urgency with composure.
- Current PMP or ScrumMaster (CSM) certification is highly desirable.
