We are Looking for a high-level Engineering and Operations Manager to lead a multidisciplinary team of engineers and administrators. This is a "player-coach" role that requires a blend of strategic planning and hands-on technical escalation management. You will be responsible for ensuring 24/7 operational continuity of enterprise systems while driving complex infrastructure projects to completion.

The ideal candidate is a technical generalist with a deep background in systems engineering who can mentor staff, manage high-priority incidents, and interface effectively with executive leadership.
Key Responsibilities
  • Team Leadership: Manage a large engineering department, identifying individual strengths/weaknesses and creating professional development roadmaps.
  • Incident & Escalation Management: Serve as the primary escalation point for after-hours high-priority issues; provide remote and on-site support through resolution.
  • Root Cause Analysis (RCA): Perform comprehensive post-incident reviews and mitigation strategies within 24 hours of major service disruptions.
  • Operational Strategy: Oversee day-to-day activities for Engineering and Ops teams, ensuring projects remain on schedule without compromising system stability.
  • Vendor Management: Coordinate with third-party service providers for hardware replacements, specialized troubleshooting, and maintenance contracts.
  • Governance: Enforce strict adherence to change management protocols and maintain a centralized repository for technical documentation.
Candidate Profile

Core Qualifications:
  • Experience: 10+ years in a Systems Engineering or Infrastructure role; 5+ years of direct people management experience.
  • Technical Breadth: Proficiency across multiple domains, including Windows/Linux Servers, Virtualization (VMware), Networking, Storage, and Hybrid-Cloud (AWS).
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Vetting: Ability to obtain and maintain a high-level security credential (current active clearance preferred).

Technical Stack & Expertise:
  • Cloud & Productivity: Advanced knowledge of AWS Cloud architecture and Microsoft 365 services.
  • Networking & Load Balancing: Strong experience with enterprise-grade load balancers (F5 BIG-IP / LTM / GTM) and Cisco networking (CCNP-level knowledge).
  • Virtualization & VDI: Deep engineering-level experience with VMware ESXi and VDI environments (Horizon).
  • Monitoring & Tooling: Familiarity with enterprise monitoring (Nagios/SolarWinds) and endpoint management/patching (MECM/SCCM).
  • Data Management: Understanding of SQL Server and storage area networks (SNIA).
Leadership & Professional Skills
  • Business-Technical Balance: Ability to plan with a business-first mindset while executing with technical precision.
  • Strategic Autonomy: Capacity to conceptualize 50% of a solution independently before collaborating with engineering leads to finalize execution.
  • Adaptability: Comfortable shifting priorities daily and acting as a "surge resource" for lower-level support when critical needs arise.
  • Communication: Exceptional verbal and written skills, capable of explaining technical risks to non-technical stakeholders.
Highly Desirable Certifications
  • Cloud/Infrastructure: AWS Certified Solutions Architect, M365 Enterprise Admin, or VCP.
  • Networking: CCNP or F5-CA/CTS.
  • Process: ITIL v3/v4, PMP, or Linux+ (LPIC/Red Hat).
