The Salesforce Developer is responsible for building, configuring, and supporting Salesforce solutions in enterprise, regulated environments. This role emphasizes hands-on development using Apex and Lightning technologies, alongside strong declarative and low-code capabilities. Operating within an Agile delivery model, the Salesforce Developer collaborates with business stakeholders, QA, UI/UX, and release teams to design, implement, and maintain reliable, maintainable, and compliant Salesforce solutions that support operational and mission needs.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Designs, builds, and enhances Salesforce solutions using Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), and declarative tools, selecting the appropriate mix of programmatic, low-code/no-code (LCNC), and configuration-based approaches.

• Develops and maintains reusable Apex classes, triggers, and Lightning components to support scalable, maintainable functionality.

• Builds Lightning-based user interfaces in collaboration with UI/UX specialists, ensuring usability and Section 508 accessibility compliance.

• Configures core Salesforce capabilities, including objects, fields, Flows/workflows, validation rules, approval processes, record types, security, and sharing rules.

• Participates in Agile delivery activities, including backlog refinement, sprint planning, task breakdown, and release support.

• Collaborates with QA to validate functionality, manage defects, and support user acceptance testing (UAT).

• Troubleshoots and resolves configuration, data, and Apex/Lightning-related issues, including production support.

• Supports data quality and operational needs, including data cleansing, deduplication, migration activities, and routine system administration (user provisioning, profiles, permission sets).

• Maintains accurate technical and configuration documentation to support ongoing platform operations.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

• 3-6 years of hands-on Salesforce experience in a developer or hybrid administrator/developer role.

• Demonstrated experience developing Salesforce solutions using Apex (classes, triggers) and Lightning Web Components.

• Strong ability to combine programmatic development with declarative and low-code tools effectively.

• Experience configuring Salesforce security, data models, and sharing rules.

• Experience working in Agile delivery teams and collaborating with QA and release functions.

• Strong troubleshooting skills across configuration, data, and code-level issues.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS DESIRED:

• Experience working with Federal agencies, particularly the Department of Veterans Affairs, is a plus.

• Experience integrating Salesforce with third-party systems using REST APIs or configured connections.

• Familiarity with CI/CD concepts and structured deployment processes.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills

• Salesforce Administrator certification plus Platform App Builder or Platform Developer I certification.

EDUCATION:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.

CLEARANCE:

• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
