Qualifications

- You will provide immediate oversight and direction of GS-0081 Lead Firefighters and paramedics with day-to-day operations including assigning shifts to employees based on deadlines.
- You will develop training for junior employees in fire protection or prevention to enhance performance in emergency support functions.
- You will counsel employees on work and basic terms of employment and benefits. You will hear and resolve employee complaints and refers the more serious complaints to leadership.
- You will prepare reports for higher level supervisors concerning emergency responses, training, maintenance, inspections, or other topics about firefighting.
- You will develop training for junior employees in fire protection or prevention to enhance performance in emergency support functions.
- You will assess a junior firefighter or employee work performance to determine if performance objectives are being met.
- You will present fire protection and prevention education or training to employees.
- You will develop a fire protection or fire prevention program for a fire department.
- You will manage the development and implementation of a risk management plan for a fire department.
- You will prepare inspection reports to document findings of fire safety deficiencies.
