Job Summary: This position is for certificated Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) acting as pilot in command (PIC) for pilot operations in Company or State owned and operated aircraft in support of the CALFRE aviation program. – This will be a union position.
Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
• Staffing and piloting support aircraft transporting parts, mechanics, pilots, administrative/company personnel, and CALFIRE personnel as required in support of the CALFIRE aviation program. All flights are conducted under FAR Part 135 or Part 91 rules.
Qualifications and Experience:
• 1800 hours total time
• 800 hours total PIC
• 500 hours multi-engine
• 500 hours of cross-country flight time
• 100 hours of night flight time
• 75 hours of actual or simulated instrument time, of which at least 50 hours must be in actual flight
• First Class Medical Certificate with EKG Endorsement if over forty (40) years of age.
• Airline Transport Pilot Certificate, Airplane (fixed wing) Multi-Engine Land (AMEL)
• Pilatus PC-24 Type Rating or ability to obtain post-hire
• Pilot currency and proficiency shall be maintained by each pilot, including mechanic-pilots, in company aircraft as necessary. Additionally, annual training shall be accomplished before fire season begins, to consist of ground school and flight proficiency.
Working Conditions:
• Must be able to work days, nights, weekends, or overtime shifts as required.
• May be exposed to contaminants.
• Will be required to utilize Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• Will be required to use safety equipment as directed by the company in accordance with applicable Federal and State Occupational Safety and Health Codes
• Must be physically able to perform duties and responsibilities of the classification.
