What We're Doing
Our team, Command and Control, Battle Management and Communications (C2BMC)- Global team at Lockheed Martin, is dedicated to engineering, developing, and integrating new capabilities for the Missile Defense System that protects the United States and its allies. While we are part of a large organization, we operate within smaller, agile teams in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Our responsibilities include Sensor/Weapon Integration, Algorithm Development, User Interface Development, Automated Testing, Cyber Security, and enhancing critical missile defense technologies.
The Work
- Work closely with C2BMC-G and X-Lab agile teams to understand concepts, algorithms, and logging in order to prototype Modeling and Simulation Tools and generate scenario datasets
- Utilize math, physics, statistics, data parsing, plotting, and database techniques to develop Algorithm Description Documents (ADDs) and algorithm reference implementations and commit them to Git repositories for version control
- Develop unit tests, preferably as Cucumber scenarios, in order to support the transition and development of MATLAB reference implementations in Java
- Use DevSecOps principles to setup and maintain nightly pipelines to support automated analysis / test and continuous integration testing of algorithm reference implementations
- Provide demonstrations of their ADDs and reference implementations as part of Agile sprints with their respective Integrated Product Team (IPT) to the C2BMC-G Project Owners (POs) and C2BMC-G Release Train Engineer (RTE)
- Provide technical support to the C2BMC-G IPTs in order to develop M&S tools that help verify and validate the tactical implementation of algorithms
- Develop technical briefs and present briefings to both internal and external stakeholders at Technical Interchange Meetings (TIMs)
- Complete understanding and wide application of technical principle, theories, and concepts in the field
- Having a general knowledge of other related disciplines - Provide technical solutions to a wide range of complex difficult problems (solutions are imaginative, thorough, practicable, and consistent with organizational objectives

-The role may involve approximately 10% travel to customer sites throughout the U.S.

Basic Qualifications:
- Must have DoD Final Secret clearance prior to starting
- Experience developing and working with mathematical models
- Algorithm engineering experience to solve computer algorithm problems, including design, analysis, implementation, optimization, profiling, and experimental evaluation
- Systems engineering and software engineering processes and principles
Desired Skills:

Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $113,900 - $200,905. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
