Description:
You will be the Electromechanical Design Engineer for the Common Command Flight Termination System (FTS) team. Our team drives the IRAD and ModSTAR initiatives that develop reusable, high reliability hardware for flight termination applications across all future Lockheed Martin missile programs.
What You Will Be Doing
As the Electromechanical Design Engineer you will create the packaging solution for the Universal Power Control Unit (U PCU) that will be used in every new FTS design. You will work closely with electrical, mechanical and systems engineers to turn performance requirements into a manufacturable, flight qualified hardware architecture. Your responsibilities will include:
• Developing detailed electromechanical layouts, 3 D models and 2 D drawings for the U PCU.
• Selecting materials, components and manufacturing processes that meet size, weight, power and environmental constraints.
• Generating complete bill of materials, sourcing quotes and coordinating build up with internal shops and external vendors.
• Defining acceptance test criteria, performing verification testing and documenting results for each hardware iteration.
• Conducting thermal, shock, vibration and EMI analyses to ensure compliance with flight termination standards.
• Providing technical guidance to junior engineers and supporting cross functional integration activities.
• Maintaining configuration control and design documentation in Lockheed Martin PLM tools.
• Supporting prototype fabrication, assembly, inspection and test activities in the lab.
• Traveling as needed to supplier sites or program milestones to support hardware validation.

MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN - This position is located at a facility that requires special access. The selected candidate must be able to obtain a secret clearance.
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent, with a minimum of 12 years of professional experience
• Experience with MFC circuit card and printed wiring board packaging design including Design Assurance processes
• Experience with Technical Data Package generation including BoM creation in Windchill, 2D drawings, and 3D Modeling
• Experience using PTC Creo and Windchill or equivalent for electro-mechanical design and product lifecycle management tools.
• Experience with flex circuit design and development
Desired Skills:
• Experience designing electronics packaging for Flight Termination Systems
• Zuken experience
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
