Position Purpose
Aircraft Mechanic II personnel perform fully qualified O-Level aircraft maintenance across assigned disciplines with limited supervision on MV-22 Aircraft. Mechanics are expected to independently execute maintenance tasks and support production goals. All specialties require assignment of Collateral Duty Quality Assurance Representative (CDQAR) in the following positions.
Available Specialties (Select One Based on Experience)
Aircraft Mechanic II – Flight Line Perform all O-level maintenance on aircraft engines and auxiliary power units, fuel cells and fuel systems, propellers, dynamic components, and drive systems.
Aircraft Mechanic II – Avionics Perform all O-level maintenance on aircraft electronic, electrical, instrument, flight control, and fire control systems.
Aircraft Mechanic II – Flight Equipment Perform O-level maintenance on Aviation Life Support Systems (ALSS) and aircraft egress systems.
Aircraft Mechanic II – Airframes Perform O-level maintenance on aircraft structures, landing gear, and hydraulic systems. Qualified to apply paint to aircraft and rotor blades.
Key Responsibilities
Independently perform O-Level maintenance on MV-22 aircraft systems, including:
Avionics, electrical, instrument, flight control, and fire control systems
Aircraft structures, landing gear, hydraulic systems, and aircraft/blade painting
Engines, APUs, fuel cells and fuel systems, propellers, drive systems, and dynamic components
Aviation Life Support Systems (ALSS) and egress systems
Conduct troubleshooting, inspections, component replacement, servicing, and functional checks.
Apply corrosion prevention and treatment procedures.
Ensure accurate and timely maintenance documentation per NAMP 4790 (series).
Support aircraft launch, recovery, towing, and ground handling operations.
Adhere to all safety, QA, and tool control requirements.
Required Qualifications
Demonstrated hands-on maintenance, modification, and repair experience on MV-22 aircraft (5+ years)
Ability to work independently without direct technical supervision
Thorough knowledge of NAVAIR publications, IETMs, and common/peculiar support equipment
Collateral Duty Quality Assurance Representative (CDQAR)
Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to train and mentor junior personnel
Experience working with aircraft confined space, fuel cells, and tanks per NAVAIR 01-1A-35
Ability to obtain and maintain required Support Equipment licenses
U.S. Citizenship required
Active Secret Clearance required
Tools & Technical Expertise
Must demonstrate proficiency with aircraft maintenance tools and equipment including, but not limited to:
Test equipment and diagnostic tools
Torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers
Cable tensiometers
Sheet metal brakes and shears
