Position Overview
Quantum Science Solutions (QSS) is seeking an experienced Cloud Solutions Architect to support a mission-critical federal program in McLean, VA. This role operates within a secure, Agile DevSecOps environment and is responsible for the architecture, development, deployment, and sustainment of scalable, cloud-native systems supporting data ingestion, analytics, and operational platforms.
The Cloud Solutions Architect will provide technical leadership across full-stack development, cloud infrastructure, data architecture, and system compliance efforts, ensuring resilient, secure, and high-performing solutions across development and production environments.

Key Responsibilities
• Architect, design, and develop cloud-native applications using enterprise DevSecOps toolchains supporting CI/CD and microservices architectures.
• Lead full-stack web application development using Vue (JavaScript), FastAPI (Python), and PostgreSQL on AWS RDS.
• Design and implement infrastructure-as-code solutions for cloud networking, service administration, and application deployment.
• Develop and deploy containerized applications using Podman and manage workloads using Kubernetes-based orchestration platforms, including AWS EKS.
• Implement cloud resiliency, high availability, and on-demand scaling strategies.
• Architect and develop large-scale data solutions enabling efficient search, analytics, and reporting capabilities.
• Perform entity resolution across large and continuously growing data sets.
• Manage data set access controls and permissions in accordance with security and governance requirements.
• Support Assessment and Authorization (A&A) activities and system accreditation processes.
• Ensure systems comply with security, auditing, monitoring, and configuration management requirements.
• Develop and maintain configuration management plans for software applications and underlying databases.
• Engineer and enforce user interface standards to promote usability, accessibility, and consistency.
• Operate and maintain systems across development and production environments, including FidOS and CLSE.
• Provide operations and maintenance support, including bug fixes, enhancements, and release management.
• Perform continuous monitoring of system functionality and data ingestion processes.
• Maintain Interface Control Documents (ICDs) defining data standards and ingestion schemas.
• Develop and maintain system documentation, training materials, and user guides.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to evaluate, prioritize, and implement system enhancements and architectural changes.

Mandatory Skills & Experience
• Demonstrated experience designing and developing cloud-native software using enterprise DevSecOps pipelines.
• Strong full-stack development experience with Vue (JavaScript), FastAPI (Python), and PostgreSQL (AWS RDS).
• Experience implementing infrastructure-as-code for cloud networking, services, and application deployments.
• Experience developing containerized applications using Podman.
• Experience deploying and managing applications using Kubernetes or similar orchestration platforms.
• Experience architecting scalable, resilient, and highly available cloud systems.
• Experience designing and implementing large-scale data architectures and analytics solutions.
