About The Role
Peraton is seeking a Senior Computer Systems Engineer to serve as the senior Microsoft 365 Engineer responsible for ensuring effective and efficient management of Microsoft 365 services in the Health and Human Services Office of the Inspector General (HHS-OIG) enterprise environment.
The Senior Computer Systems Engineer will lead modernization and sustainment efforts of Microsoft 365 cloud services and unified collaboration systems, supporting both Service Desk and Engineering Support functions under the HHS-OIG IT Service Program.

Target Salary Range: $80,000 - $128,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.

About The Role
Peraton is seeking a Senior Computer Systems Engineer to serve as the senior Microsoft 365 Engineer responsible for ensuring effective and efficient management of Microsoft 365 services in the Health and Human Services Office of the Inspector General (HHS-OIG) enterprise environment.
The Senior Computer Systems Engineer will lead modernization and sustainment efforts of Microsoft 365 cloud services and unified collaboration systems, supporting both Service Desk and Engineering Support functions under the HHS-OIG IT Service Program.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deploy, and maintain enterprise-level Microsoft 365 services, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Microsoft Teams, and related security/compliance tools.
- Provide expert support for Microsoft Teams integration with Cisco Video Teleconferencing (VTC) systems, including interop, call routing, room configurations, and endpoint registration.
- Manage and administer Cisco VTC infrastructure (including codecs, bridges, and endpoints) to ensure secure, high-quality, and reliable teleconferencing experiences across HHS-OIG facilities and remote sites.
- Support and maintain Microsoft Surface Hubs and associated Teams Rooms systems, ensuring seamless collaboration experiences across virtual and physical meeting spaces.
- Partner with federal stakeholders to ensure that M365, Teams, and Cisco VTC environments align with security, governance, and compliance policies (FedRAMP, FISMA, and agency IT standards).
- Lead modernization initiatives including M365 service enhancements, collaboration suite upgrades, and hybrid conferencing system improvements.
- Collaborate with Service Desk and Tier III Engineering teams for troubleshooting, incident resolution, and preventive maintenance related to M365 and UCC (Unified Communication & Collaboration) platforms.
- Develop and maintain system documentation, SOPs, and architectural diagrams for M365 and VTC environments.
- Participate in change control reviews, testing, and implementation of feature updates, ensuring minimal disruption to enterprise operations.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- 7 years with AS/AA; 5 years with BS/BA; 3 years with MS/MA or 9 years with High School Diploma/Equivalent in lieu of degree
- Minimum of 3 years of experience managing Microsoft 365 enterprise environments.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Teams administration, integration, and collaboration solutions.
- Hands-on experience with Cisco VTC bridging technologies, software, and interoperability between Microsoft Teams and Cisco conferencing systems.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Surface Hub administration and Teams Rooms device lifecycle management.
- Strong understanding of Active Directory, Azure AD, Intune, and M365 Security & Compliance Center.
- Experience supporting large-scale collaboration environments within a federal or enterprise setting.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust (High Risk) clearance.
- Excellent communication, coordination, and documentation skills.
- Must reside within 50 miles of Washington, DC for in office days.
- US Citizenship is required.
- Experience leading modernization or cloud migration initiatives in a hybrid environment.
- Certifications such as the Microsoft 365 Certified: Administrator Expert (MS-102), Managing Microsoft Teams (MS-700) and Collaboration Communications Systems Engineer (MS-721) are highly desired to demonstrate proficiency across M365 administration, Teams collaboration, and unified communications.
- Cisco certifications such as CCNA or CCNP Collaboration are preferred for VTC and telepresence integration.
