Title: Ribbon VoIP Implementation Engineer (UC SME)

Job Description:
NextPoint Group is seeking a Ribbon VoIP Implementation Engineers (Remote) to support a customer network transformation project. In this role, you will develop and implement migration strategies to transition a legacy network to a Ribbon’s VoIP-based architecture. You will play a key role in ensuring a successful migration, including planning, data conversion, subscriber migration, and live cutover execution.
Key Responsibilities
• Define and execute end-to-end migration strategies and cutover plans for transitioning from legacy system to a Ribbon VoIP platform.
• Deployment of Ribbon products including Ribbons SBC’s, PSX Manager, Analytics Manager, RAMP Networks Element Manager, Ribbon Applications Server.
• Collect, analyze, and map legacy switch data into Ribbon compatible formats.
• Resolve issues related to E911, voicemail, unsupported line types, and customer group configurations.
• Define migration scope and phase planning for each customer deployment.
• Develop and document comprehensive migration plans and cutover.
• Maintain detailed project documentation including sites, schedules, and responsibilities.
• Convert and validate subscriber and feature data from donor switches to target platforms.
• Execute programmable subscriber updates and provide real-time support during live cutovers.
Work Schedule & Travel
• This position is full time, and the work is primarily remote.
• Must be available for off-hours and extended shifts—including nights and weekends—to support live cutovers.
• Occasional travel may be required during implementation.
Preferred Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Ribbon Certified
• Deep understanding of Ribbon products including SBC’s, PSX Manager, Analytics Manager, RAMP Networks Element Manager, Ribbon Applications Server.
• Extensive IP networking and VoIP knowledge
• Familiarity with migration methodologies and cutover execution best practices.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Meticulous attention to detail with a focus on quality and reliability.
