Job Summary

KBR is seeking a Senior Engineer to support the Program Acquisition Executive (PAE) Fires Search Track Acquire Radiate Eliminate (STARE) Test and Evaluation (T&E) Directorate based in Huntsville, AL. The STARE T&E Directorate coordinates, manages, and observes testing requirements of STARE radars and sensors in support of the STARE Project Office mission: "...develops, tests, acquires, fields, and sustains world-class radar and sensor technologies, enabling long-range detection discrimination, tracking, and destruction of multi-domain threat capabilities through the integration with mission command and effector systems".

Key Responsibilities
  • Responsible for supporting PAE Fires Search Track Acquire Radiate Eliminate (STARE) Test and Evaluation Directorate for radar ground and missile flight test mission execution (requires travel) of radar systems to include the Lower Tier Air and Missile Defense Sensor (LTAMDS), Sentinel, the Army Long Range Persistent Sensor (ALPS).
  • Responsible for the guidance and oversight of the development of test plans /technical artifacts needed for test mission execution
  • Ability to coordinate mission resources and collaborate across stakeholders and internal/external organizations
  • Ability to interpret system requirements / test objectives ensure proper mission configuration etc.
  • Responsible for leading working groups (WG) / integrated product teams (IPT).
  • Prepare and present classified briefings to PAE Fires and STARE leadership and stakeholders.


Basic Qualifications
  • Minimum BS Engineering / STEM degree
  • 15+ Years experience with direct or indirect system engineering support on Department of Defense (Department of War) air and missile defense systems of systems.
  • Ability to travel as required, up to 20%.
  • US citizenship required
  • Required Clearance - Secret


Preferred Qualifications
  • 20+ Years of system engineering experience.
  • Familiar/ experience with the complexity of the Joint Analysis Team (JAT) and the supporting relationships of the various stakeholders supporting the system(s) of interest (LTAMDS, Sentinel, ALPS, etc.) to include the customer, the vendor, and evaluation elements.
  • Preferred technical knowledge of various technology types covered within the PAE Fires STARE portfolio
  • Familiarity working with the Test Event Management Team (TEMT) construct
  • Experience with system requirements, test objective development and testing
  • Preferred experience providing technical briefings / expertise to Senior Leaders & 06 level officers; working collaboratively in a multi-organization team to accomplish common goals
  • Preferred operational experience employing Army equipment, programs of record, and test systems
  • Experience in DoD acquisition process from either Combat or Material development perspective
  • Experience with test planning and execution, systems engineering, design processes, weapon system integration, and performance assessment
  • Experience leading working groups and integrated process teams; fostering collaboration, innovation, and solution-oriented thinking
  • Strong presentation skills and capable of briefing audiences of varying technical knowledge
  • Ability to operate and make decisions in a dynamic environment
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills; ability to adapt communication style to suit different audiences or facilitate group discussions and develop accurate written materials to clearly and concisely communicate information
  • Master's Degree preferred
