AI Engineer
Location: Remote
Clearance Requirement: Must hold a current Tier 1 DOD background investigation or DoD clearance
Our client has an immediate need for an AI Engineer to design and deliver AI-powered features that enhance a government agency’s existing application, turning real business needs into intelligent, production-ready solutions. This position will work across the full lifecycle, beginning with understanding user workflows and identifying opportunities for AI, to building and iterating on AI features. Successful candidate will collaborate closely with other developers and product managers, translating cutting-edge AI capabilities into practical, reliable experiences that users depend on every day.
Responsibilities:
• Provide Cloud Architecture and Engineering support to optimize agency’s cloud
• infrastructure
• Assist agency’s System Administrators with Operation & Maintenance (O&M) 4 cloud environment in Microsoft Azure
• Ensure the environment and applications are setup and configured to maximize portability and avoid vendor lock-in
• Move from the current IaaS implementation to PaaS/SaaS
• Operate and sustain the cloud environment and all systems in the environment in compliance with all DoD and Army cyber security requirements and agency’s operational requirements
• Utilize automation and technical efficiencies when managing the agency’s cloud environment
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Must hold a current Tier 1 DOD background investigation. Active DoD security clearance is preferred.
• Proficiency in C#, Go, Python, and at least one additional modern language (Java or Rust).
• Experience with AI/ML frameworks and automation tools (e.g., IBM UFT, PowerAutomate).
• Strong understanding of cloud-native development and containerization (Kubernetes, Docker).
• Experience with OpenAI
• Hands-on experience with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
• Familiarity with distributed systems and microservices architecture.
• Knowledge of database systems (SQL and NoSQL).
• Security+ certification
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and infrastructure as code (Terraform, Ansible).
• Experience with Retrieval-Augmented Generation
• Knowledge of AI operations and MLOps practices for deploying and maintaining machine learning models.
• Familiarity with secure coding principles and basic cybersecurity best practices.
• Experience in federal, defense, or highly regulated environments a plus.
• Relevant industry certifications (e.g., AWS Developer, Kubernetes CKA/CKAD, Microsoft Power Automate RPA Developer).
