Duties
Help
  • You will perform technical work for the command's legacy desktop and laptop computer suites, associated peripherals, and for performing prescribed basic software loads in accordance with the command's approved software configuration plan.
  • You will provide maintenance of commercial trunked/ repeated radio network systems and the related commercial microwave transmission circuits and solar power systems located at multiple relay sites aboard the installation.
  • You will provide maintenance and repair for a variety of electronic equipment; i.e., public address systems, intercom systems, solar power systems, and operator alignment of electronic support equipment.
  • You will assist project managers and subject-matter experts during evaluation of alternate approaches for satisfying the requirements of the Command's commercial trunked voice radio system, and conventional voice radio repeater systems.
  • You will assist project managers during evaluation of microwave radio repeater network, Information Technology systems (computers) and other telecommunications requirements such as Joint Department of Defense voice and data developmental projects.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current snow-mobile and UTV license.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • This is a Cyberspace Workforce position, work role code (411), proficiency level (INTERMEDIATE) the incumbent is required to obtain and maintain qualifications in DoDM 8140.03 Cyber Workforce Qualification and Department of Navy policies.
Qualifications

Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Determining and defining Information Technology standards, policies and established system design approaches; understanding digital and analog communications requirements, voice radio systems, and switching systems; modifying and adapting precedent system approaches to meet specialized requirements of new projects; AND maintaining and repairing electronic equipment.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part time experience. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.

Education

In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education:

Successful completion of a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree in electrical or electronic engineering, mathematics, physics, public utilities, statistics, computer science, telecommunications management, information systems management, business administration, industrial management, or other fields related to the position to be filled.

OR

Successful completion of three full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent degree in electrical or electronic engineering, mathematics, physics, public utilities, statistics, computer science, telecommunications management, information systems management, business administration, industrial management, or other fields related to the position to be filled.

OR

Successful completion of an LL.M. degree that is related to the position being filled.

OR

A combination of experience and graduate education as described above that equates to one year of experience
