Health System Specialist (Credentialing/Privileging)

Duties
Help

• Serve as the consulting authority on credentialing, privileging and adverse actions for the DHN.
• Prepares and review completed staff actions and studies, as required, expressing conclusions and recommendations that serve as a guide to higher officials.
• Assist in the credentialing and privileging actions.
• Monitors and prepare reports on the status of provider license, certification and privileging status within the DHN
• Assist in conducting meetings with representatives of network MTFs for the purpose of coordinating action on projects assigned by higher headquarters, and designs plans to meet target mission goals.

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• A Personnel Security Investigation is required.
• This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
• This position is a Testing Designated Position subject to pre-employment screening and random drug testing. Selectees will be required to consent to participation in random drug urinalysis testing.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes assisting with Credentialing and Privileging actions for medical professionals; reviewing and providing directions on Adverse Clinical Actions; and reviewing directives, plans, or policies regarding credentialing and privileging of medical professionals. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).

Education

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
