Responsibilities
Cloud Architecture & Engineering
  • Design, deploy, and maintain secure AWS and Azure GovCloud environments in accordance with DoD cloud security frameworks and best practices.
  • Provision and sustain IL2, IL4, and IL5 cloud infrastructure using native AWS and Azure services.
  • Ensure high availability, scalability, and resilience for mission-critical applications.

Identity, Access & Network Security
  • Configure and manage identity and access management (IAM) solutions and enforce role-based access control (RBAC).
  • Manage cloud security groups, firewalls, and Zero Trust-aligned access policies.

  • Support configuration standardization and repeatable deployment patterns.

Containerization, Monitoring & Cost Management
  • Provision and manage shared container environments and associated storage resources.
  • Track and report Kubernetes and workload-specific resource utilization using GovCloud-native observability tools such as Azure Monitor, AWS CloudWatch, and Cost Explorer.
  • Reconcile prepaid or reserved capacity against actual usage and produce monthly reports on compute, storage allocation, tagging compliance, and projected costs.

Optimization, Compliance & Advisory Support
  • Advise government stakeholders on workload placement and optimization strategies across IL2, IL4, and IL5 environments.
  • Implement cloud-native monitoring, cost tracking, and compliance automation services to support chargeback alignment.
  • Support ATO processes, including SSP, SAR, and POA&M development, and collaborate with cybersecurity teams to ensure compliance with FedRAMP, RMF, NIST, and DoD IL4/IL5 requirements.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or five (5) years of equivalent experience in cloud engineering.
  • Demonstrated experience designing, deploying, and managing AWS and Azure cloud environments with an emphasis on security, automation, and scalability.
  • Proficiency with IAM, RBAC, Zero Trust Architecture, and cloud networking concepts such as VPC peering, subnets, VPNs, and security groups.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Infrastructure-as-Code tools including Terraform, CloudFormation, or ARM templates.
  • Experience supporting ATO processes and maintaining compliance with DoD governance frameworks and NIST requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with cybersecurity teams to implement security controls while optimizing cloud resource utilization.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize complex project tasks.
  • Ability to travel approximately 5–15%, as required.
  • U.S. citizenship and ability to successfully pass a background check for access to U.S. military bases.

Preferred Qualifications
