Duties
Help
  • Support the Center's mission and provides strategic direction and guidance for the agency in the area of Defense Industrial Base cybersecurity assessments.
  • Provides expert policy guidance on all aspects of the DIBCAC Center's management processes and their impact on the DoD acquisition process.
  • Works with the Agency, military services, civilian agencies, and other Government entities to determine the best practices for assessing and evaluating contractor activities and systems that impact the technical performance of DoD contracts.
  • Provides analysis and direction within the Agency and across the DoD agencies and Military Commands related to DIB cybersecurity management assessments best practices.

Qualifications

To qualify for a Supervisory IT Cybersecurity Specialist, your resume and supporting documentation must support:

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position and is directly in, or related to, this position. To qualify for the NH-04 level, specialized experience must be at the NH-03 or GS-13 grade level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military or private sector.
Creditable specialized experience includes:
  • Serving as a technical authority for an organizations Defense Industrial Base cybersecurity assessments.
  • Developing enterprise-wide initiatives to improve the practice of cybersecurity assessments throughout an organization.
  • Leading in-depth analyses of efforts regarding compliance with NIST SP 800-171 and its impact on cybersecurity for the purpose of assessing cybersecurity preparedness.
For all positions individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below.

Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services.
3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately.
4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.

  • Acquisition, Technology & Logistics (AT&L) NON-CAP: This position requires an Acquisition, Technology and Logistics Level III certification in the Engineering & Technical Management Career Field within 24 months, unless a Position Requirements Waiver is approved to extend.
  • Must obtain a Engineering and Technical Management (ETM) Practitioner Certification within 2 years and maintain on a bi-annual basis.
  • Information Assurance (IA) Position: This position requires an DODM 8410.03 Cyberspace Workforce Qualification and Management Program "Advance" certification and Continuing Professional Education (CPE) credits in accordance with certification requirements.
