Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and strategic leader to cultivate a team of IT Business Partners who serve as trusted advisors to business leaders in the Space and Mission Systems (SMS) organization. The Director of IT Business Partners will be responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of IT strategies that drive business growth, improve efficiency, and enhance the digital employee experience (DEX). This role requires a deep understanding of the SMS business strategy, industry trends, and technology landscape to identify opportunities for innovation and improvement.
The Operations Strategic Capabilities Unit plays a fundamental role in enabling efficient business and program execution - from strategic capital investments, industrial operations and an efficient supply chain, to state-of-the-art manufacturing and test operations and top-notch facilities management.
What You'll Do:
On-Site Work Environment: This position requires regular in-person engagement by working four days each normally scheduled week in the primary work location. Travel and local commute between company campuses and other possible non-company locations may be required.
Working Conditions:
Short-Term Incentive: Subject to business performance and recommendations of management, this role may be eligible to participate in an incentive compensation plan.

What You'll Do:
- Leadership and Management: Provide strategic direction, guidance, and support to a team of IT Business Partners, ensuring they are equipped to effectively partner with business leaders and deliver IT solutions that meet business needs.
- Standards: By understanding business leaders needs and the IT demand, execution, and operations processes, develop standards for the IT Business Partners to use to effectively and consistently communicate with business leaders. These standards should encompass strategy, roadmaps, prioritization, requirements, status, escalations, operational scorecards, etc.
- IT Strategy Development: Collaborate with business leaders and IT stakeholders to develop and implement IT strategies that align with the organization's overall business strategy.
- Guidance: Provide guidance and support to IT Business Partners on IT demand management, IT project management, and resource management
- Business-IT Alignment: Ensure that IT initiatives and projects are aligned with business objectives and that IT solutions meet business needs.
- SMS Employee Digital Experience: Partner with business and ESS to increase efficiencies in SMS employees digital experience, including process improvements, automations, technology improvements, experience monitoring and employee sentiment of IT.
- SMS Workflow Automations: Oversee a team of digital workflow specialists, charged with streamlining and automating business processes across SBUs and SCUs and modernizing offerings
- Financial Management: Oversee the financial management of IT projects and initiatives, ensuring that they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
- Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with business leaders, IT stakeholders, and external partners to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
- Innovation and Improvement: Identify opportunities for innovation and improvement, and develop strategies to implement new technologies and processes that drive business value.
- Performance Management: Conduct performance management and create a culture and work environment that attracts, trains, retains, and motivates an extremely high caliber team of professionals.
- Will work under consultative direction toward long-range goals and objectives, functioning virtually self-supervisory on day-to-day operations.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills
- Bachelor's degree in a related field plus 12 or more years related experience.
- Each higher-level degree, i.e., Master's Degree or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of experience. Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education. Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education.
- Leadership experience with a focus on IT business partnership and strategy development.
- Extensive knowledge of IT industry standard service delivery, cyber compliance and assurance, operations, processes, standards, tools, and capabilities.
- Track record of developing and implementing successful IT strategies that drive business growth and improve efficiency.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills-able to communicate technology solutions to non-technical stakeholders by focusing on business outcomes and value.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Ability to work across multiple functions and organizations to build trusted working relationships.
- Deep experience with IT demand management, IT project management, resource management, and organizational change management.
- Experience in digital workplace platforms and monitoring technology, such as Microsoft 365, ServiceNow, Jira, and Nexthink.
- Displays a passion for employee digital experience in the workplace and measuring the experience outcomes.
- Ability to resolve conflict and navigate difficult situations.

- Professional certifications in IT, such as ITIL or PMP.
