IT Support Specialist

Description:
The IT Specialist supports and maintains enterprise IT systems in both stand-alone and client-server environments, ensuring reliable, secure, and efficient network and system operations in a mission-critical environment.

Location: Washington DC hybrid/onsite

Pay: $28 - $33 an hour

Due to federal security clearance requirements, applicant must be a United States Citizen or Permanent Resident with an active Public Trust clearance.

This is a contract-to-hire opportunity. Applicants must be willing and able to work on a W2 basis and convert to FTE following contract duration. Responsibilities:

• Install, configure, maintain, and repair IT systems including Microsoft server environments, Defense Message Systems (DMS), and other authorized platforms.
• Support servers, storage, network services, and associated hardware and software.
• Integrate and troubleshoot multiple information systems in a networked environment.
• Perform hardware upgrades, system repairs, and routine maintenance to ensure operational readiness.
• Install, configure, and support routers, switches, wireless devices, servers, and workstations.
• Install, optimize, and troubleshoot Local Area Networks (LAN) and Base Area Networks (BAN).
• Diagnose and resolve user and system issues; document changes and configurations

Experience Requirements:

• Experience supporting enterprise IT environments and Microsoft servers.
• Hands-on networking experience with:
• IPv6, EIGRP, BGP
• VLANs, VPNs, NAT
• Strong troubleshooting and customer support skills.

Education Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field or equivalent relevant experience.
• Relevant certifications preferred (Security+, Network+, CCNA, Microsoft, etc.).
