Position Overview

By Light Professional IT Services (By Light) are leading providers of innovative Information Technology (IT) services and communications support to the Department of Defense and Federal Agencies. By Light is looking for personnel to support a U.S. Army information technology infrastructure program. The project includes conducting survey and design, engineer, furnish, install, secure, and test (EFIS&T) solutions to include non-secure internet protocol router (NIPR), secure internet protocol router (SIPR), Wi-Fi, Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP), Inside Plant (ISP), Outside Plant (OSP), and Voice Modernization at U.S. Army Base/Post/Camp/Station (B/P/C/S) across the Continental United States (CONUS).

Responsibilities

• Design and implement computer and information networks, such as local area networks (LAN), wide area networks (WAN), intranets, extranets, and other data communications networks.
• Perform network modeling, analysis, and planning.
• May also design network and computer security measures.
• May research and recommend network and data communications hardware and software.
• Convene and attend contract activity and status meetings.
• Participate in integrated project teams and develop project plans, WBS, activity schedules, GANTT charts, Pareto diagrams, PERT charts, and project status reports utilizing standard software tools; Microsoft Office Suite (Project, Word, Power-Point, etc.).
• Prepare and submit reports, plans, and other documents to the Government.
• Recommend the integration of information technologies for optimal effectiveness.
• Must be available during core hours (0900-1500) and available onsite at Fort Belvoir, as requested

Required Experience/Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field IT, engineering, or technical field. Additional four (4) years of relevant experience allowed in lieu of degree allowed
• Ten (10) years' experience as a Lead Engineer or leading projects of similar scope of the capability areas in Section 8
• Must meet DoD Approved 8570 certification requirements for IAT-III U.S. Army/PEO C3T/PM IEN/GENM-A COMPMOD 6
• At least one of the following certifications:
  
  • Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert
  • Cisco Certified Design Expert
  • Government-Approved vendor equivalent will be considered

Preferred Experience/Qualifications

• DevOps certification from Cisco, Microsoft, or an industry-recognized leader in DevOps is preferred, but not required
• Supported the U.S. Army or other Federal Agency.
• Has the communication skills to effectively interface with senior military officials, managers, and subordinates.

Special Requirements/Security Clearance

• Active Top-Secret clearance with eligibility for Sensitive Compartmented Information
• Travel may be required up to 25%
