Overview
As an Associate Business Analyst, you will support the collection, capture, and management of mission user needs , from prioritization and concept development to feature writing and deployment. You will assist in business process analysis, system design and improvement, and translating business needs into technical requirements. You will also provide support for change management, training efforts, and strategic planning activities across various technical and functional environments.
You'll contribute across multiple disciplines, including Configuration Management, Strategic Planning, Knowledge Management, Business Analysis, and Technical Analysis.

Contributions
- Collaborate with teams to develop and document requirements that improve tools, streamline processes, and enhance key performance metrics.
- Identify and help escalate and mitigate risks during planning and execution phases of projects.
- Support Agile project delivery by working with stakeholders and customers to plan and deliver technical solutions.
- Facilitate meetings and workshops to promote shared understanding and support clear product and portfolio roadmaps.
- Assist in breaking down large epics into actionable features and user stories that are clearly understood by development teams.
- Support and participate in Increment Planning sessions to ensure work is well-defined, scoped, and aligned with business goals.
- Support the use of tools for tracking work across multiple teams, including support for effective reporting and visualization of progress.
- Promote Agile best practices by reinforcing delivery processes, client values, and agile mindset.
- Monitor project progress and support scope definition, schedule planning, risk management, and issue resolution.
- Support Scrum teams for high-priority client projects as needed.
- Write clear and testable Acceptance Criteria in collaboration with technical teams and business stakeholders.
- Use strong communication skills to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences and deliver actionable insights.
Qualifications
Required:
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or similar
- 2+ years of relevant experience in business analysis, operations, or process improvement roles
- Experience supporting Agile or iterative delivery methodologies
- Strong critical thinking and analytical skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical staff
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Professional training or certification in Business Analytics
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively in cross-functional, fast-paced environments
- Experience creating and maintaining clear documentation, including process flows, requirements artifacts, and reference materials to support knowledge sharing and operational continuity
- Local to Washington, DC metro area
- Onsite 2 times per week in Bethesda, MD
Preferred:
- Experience supporting data accuracy, auditing, and documentation standards
- Experience supporting process improvement or automation efforts to improve data quality, reduce manual effort, and increase efficiency
- Familiarity with analytics tools such as Excel, Tableau, SQL
