USD $120,000.00 - USD $160,000.00 /Yr.
The Markon pay range for this position is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Markon's partner company is seeking a Database Engineer to design, build, optimize, and support enterprise database solutions supporting critical business and mission applications for an IC customer.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain database schemas, tables, views, stored procedures, and indexes
- Develop and optimize SQL queries for performance, scalability, and reliability
- Monitor database health and performance; identify bottlenecks and implement tuning strategies
- Support database deployments, upgrades, migrations, and patching activities
- Implement backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies to ensure system continuity
- Enforce data integrity, security controls, and access management aligned with best practices
- Collaborate with application teams to support integration, troubleshooting, and data modeling
- Automate routine database operations and monitoring tasks where possible
- Create and maintain technical documentation for database configurations, processes, and runbooks
Qualifications
- Active TS/SCI w/ Full Scope Polygraph
- 3+ years of database engineering, database administration, or data platform experienStrong proficiency in SQL and relational database concepts
- 3+ years of experience with one or more database technologies such as: PostgreSQL, Oracle, MySQL, SQL Server
- Experience with performance tuning (indexing, query optimization, execution plans)
- Knowledge of backup/recovery processes and data protection strategies
- Experience troubleshooting production issues and supporting operational environments
Salary Range
USD $120,000.00 - USD $160,000.00 /Yr.
