Position Overview
BOAB Ventures is seeking an experienced Rust Software Engineer to support a government sponsor focused on high-performance web applications and AI-enabled solutions. This role is ideal for a developer who thrives in performance-critical environments, enjoys working with modern Rust frameworks, and has interest or experience integrating AI/ML capabilities into production systems.
The selected candidate will work under a Firm Fixed Price – Level of Effort (FFP-LOE) model, supporting mission-critical development efforts while collaborating with cross-functional technical teams.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain high-performance web applications using Rust
Build and integrate AI-powered features and functionality
Optimize application performance, scalability, and reliability
Collaborate with cross-functional engineering and stakeholder teams
Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code
Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and design reviews
Support RESTful APIs and microservices architectures
Stay current with advancements in Rust, AI/ML technologies, and web development best practices
Required Skills & Experience
Professional experience developing applications using Rust
Experience with parallel and concurrent programming
Strong understanding of web development principles and best practices
Experience with Rust web frameworks such as Actix, Rocket, or Warp
Experience or familiarity with WebAssembly (Wasm) for client-side Rust
Experience working with databases and ORM tools (e.g., Diesel)
Experience developing and consuming RESTful APIs
Familiarity with Git or other version control systems
Experience with machine learning libraries in Rust (e.g., rust-bert, linfa)
Understanding of AI concepts, algorithms, and model integration
Highly Desired Qualifications
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
Experience working in Agile development environments
Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
Understanding of secure software development practices
Experience with test-driven development (TDD)
Knowledge of software verification & validation (V&V) processes
Education & Certifications (Preferred)
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
Preferred certifications include:
SAFe DevOps Practitioner
Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD)
Security+
ITIL v3 Foundation
Certified System Administrator
CEH, GCIH
Web or Network Penetration Testing Certifications

High Risk Role (HRR): This position may require compliance with the Sponsor’s medical screening program, with the level of screening determined by the Government Task Manager (GTM)
