We are seeking an experienced Image Processing (IP) Engineer who will join a highly skilled team of systems engineering technologists and algorithm developers supporting various contracts and IRADs within Missiles and Fire Control.
What You Will Be Doing
IP Engineer tasks include:
- Design, develop, and deploy embedded algorithms that support unresolved (point-source) and resolved target detection and tracking
- Develop, verify, and validate both complex models and simulations that utilize match filters, convolutional neural networks, and other such techniques to detect targets of interest.
- Evaluate system performance in complex scenarios and environments and verify system and subsystem level requirements
- Perform critical studies, analyses, and test activities that support ground and flight test efforts including Hardware-In-The-Loop (HWIL) activities
- Opportunities will exist to join small teams of engineers and algorithm developers on a variety of different programs that are in various stages of product development.
- Support program reviews and technical interchange meetings with internal leadership and/or external customers

Basic Qualifications:
- BS in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, physics, computer science, applied mathematics, or similar STEM degree.
- Experience solving problems in the related areas mentioned below::
- Candidate should be fluent in Matlab, python, and c++
- Candidate should have relevant experience in one of the following areas and exposure to others: resolved and unresolved image processing, low signature target detection, automatic target recognition and identification, image correction algorithms, scene generation, hyperspectral image processing techniques and non-uniformity correction.
- The candidate should have been exposed to electro-optic phenomenology and optical system analysis as it applies to image/signal processing and/or general knowledge of detection and image tracking technologies.
- Have experience implementing and debugging image processing algorithms running in a real-time environment and experience processing instrumented real-time system data.
- Candidate be proficient in developing and validating C++ algorithm simulations and hardware models with real-time data collections.
Desired Skills:
- Proficiency in MATLAB
- Experience with linear algebra software packages
- Strong programming skills that can translate to C++ development in a Linux environment
- Experience deploying algorithms that satisfy real-time performance requirements
- Knowledge of electro-optical/infrared detection technology, optics, and principles of radiometry
- Familiarity with clutter rejection techniques
- Knowledge and experience with Modelling and Simulation of EOIR systems
- Familiarity with deployable AI/ML topologies as they relate to target detection
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.
Clearance Level: Secret with Investigation or CV date within 5 years

Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
