You will be the Mechanical Design Engineer - Lead for the RF Product Center. Our team delivers cutting edge RF sensor systems, handling everything from high performance sensor assemblies to the mechanical packaging of lower level components. We drive innovation, ensure reliability, and keep our products on schedule and within budget.
What You Will Be Doing
As the Mechanical Design Engineer - Lead you will own the technical direction and integrity of RF sensor mechanical designs. You'll guide a small, high performing design team, partner with cross functional IPTs, and steer trade study activities that balance performance, cost, and schedule. While you may dive into limited detail design when needed, your primary focus is leadership, milestone ownership, and seamless coordination of developmental efforts.
Your responsibilities will include:
• Directing and reviewing all mechanical design work for RF sensor assemblies and packaging.
• Leading a multidisciplinary design team, providing mentorship and clear technical guidance.
• Developing and executing design trade studies to optimize performance, weight, cost, and manufacturability.
• Coordinating with Electrical, Systems, Software, Test, and Manufacturing IPTs to align requirements and schedules.
• Owning schedule milestones, tracking progress, and reporting status to program leadership.
• Ensuring design solutions meet stringent RF performance, reliability, and environmental standards.
• Managing supplier interactions and mechanical component selections.
• Preparing and presenting technical documentation, drawings, and design reviews.
• Identifying and mitigating technical risks early in the development lifecycle.

This position is in Orlando, FL.
MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN - This position is located at a facility that requires special access. The selected candidate must possess a Final Secret clearance.
Basic Qualifications:
- Mechanical Engineering degree or equivalent.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in a relevant industry.
- Proficient in Computer Aided Design (CREO or Solid Works).
- Experience with GD&T and tolerance studies.
- Active secret security clearance.
Desired Skills:
- Leadership experience, leading tasking and decision making over small or large teams.
- Prior RF system experience
- Model Based Definition (MBD) experience.
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
