Lockheed Martin Aeronautics is seeking a Summer 2026 Software Engineering - Intern to join the Advanced Development Programs Ground Vehicle Management System (GVMS) Team in Marietta, Georgia. The GVMS team uses a wide application of modern technical principles, theories, and concepts in the software field to develop, integrate, and test open mission systems software products that can be applied to air and ground-based systems.
In this role, you will be responsible for all phases of developing command and control (C2) ground and mission control software for various autonomous air vehicle platforms including requirements generation, software design, code, test, integration, and flight test. The successful candidate will have experience and/or knowledge of programming languages and working in a collaborative and team-based environment. Must be a US Citizen; this position will require a government security clearance. This position is located at a facility that requires special access.
Basic Qualifications:
• Pursuing Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related technical degree
• Experience with programming languages such as Lua, Java, Javascript, Rust, C, C++, or Python
• Must be a US Citizen. This position is located at a facility that requires special access.
Desired Skills:
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work in a collaborative and team-based environment
• Proficient with Microsoft Office
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
