Job Description
BAE Systems is looking for a Chief Delivery & Innovation Engineer (CDIE) supporting the Department of War (DoW) High Performance Computing Modernization Program (DoW HPCMP). This is a virtual position that can be accomplished from anywhere in the continental US.
This role provides technical leadership with responsibility for managing technological requirements of the HITS-U2 program with the DoW High Performance Computing Modernization Program (HPCMP), and is responsible for enhancing a High Performance Computing (HPC) environment across multiple DoW Supercomputing Research Centers (DSRCs).
The CDIE will exemplify a solid foundation of high-level technical, financial, organizational, project management and leadership experience in HPC environment, IT infrastructure, security, asset management, technical/end-user support, and research and development.
Responsibilities include:
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
Master's level degree in Computer Science, Chemistry, Physics, Aerodynamics, Material Sciences or a related field and 8 years experience OR Bachelor's degree and 10 years of experience.
Expertise in providing technical leadership at the Enterprise level.
Advanced knowledge of automation, scripting, cloud, networking, and systems engineering

Minimum of 5 years in a senior management or directorial level role leading organizational technology strategy.
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
Doctorate level degree in Computer Science, Chemistry, Physics, Aerodynamics, Material Sciences or related field.
Knowledge of and experience in an HPC Cloud environment is a plus.
10 Years' experience leading technology enhancement at an Enterprise level.
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $149603 - $254317
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.

- Oversight of all aspects of HPC center operations; facilitating technology evaluations and upgrades to improve operations and system performance
- Determining the role of technology in meeting the program's goals of advancing the state of the practice in High Performance Computing systems and environments
- Experience and confidence in understanding new IT specialties and roles while ensuring the effective use of highly qualified technical staff
- Motivating team members to work towards common goals while delegating responsibilities to other leaders
- Providing mentoring where needed and communicating horizontally and vertically through an organization seeking open feedback for continued improvement.
- Managing direct reports
- High Performance Computing or large scale Cloud Computing, with experience writing applications and administering of equipment in these environments
- Demonstrated experience leading technical teams implementing and/or operating computational infrastructure
- Developing and managing high performance network infrastructure
- Deploying large scale high speed storage for varying workloads such as AI/ML and modeling and simulation
- Information security management/engineering in a DoW environment
- Technical/end-user support
- Familiarity with infrastructure software platforms, including ServiceNow, OpenSearch/Elastic, GitLab
- Knowledge of software development practices, including agile scrum and DevSecOps principles
- Experience with technical documentation, including deployment plans, knowledge bases and Standard Operating Procedures
- Developing and implementing strategic program plans and roadmaps
