Job Description

BAE Systems Space & Mission Systems (SMS) is looking for an experienced and results-driven Applications Developer to join our Program Management Office (PMO) team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a critical role in the development and delivery of tools, capabilities, and dashboards to support program managers and leadership across SMS. The successful candidate will utilize their tool administration and SharePoint expertise to develop innovative software solutions that align with business objectives and stakeholder needs. To excel in this role, the ideal candidate will possess a strong background in SharePoint Online, Power Platform, system administration, and database management.

What You'll Do:
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs and gather system requirements through interviews, document analysis, business process workflows, and user stories to inform the development of solutions that drive business outcomes.
  • Document business requirements by producing expected deliverables in accordance with the system development life cycle (SDLC). These deliverables include but are not limited to flowcharts, use cases, process flow diagrams, etc.
  • Develop and maintain SharePoint Online sites and Power Platform solutions, including Power Apps, Power Automate, and Power BI.
  • Provide tool administration to the IRIS R&O Management SaaS software including user access, testing, configuring the system, and creating and maintaining report templates.
  • Develop, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot databases to meet business requirements, ensuring data accuracy, security, and compliance with organizational policies and procedures.
  • Develop and maintain program execution Microsoft Power BI Dashboards.
  • Configure and maintain modules in an ERP Financial system that supports program status reporting.
  • Develop and maintain Excel tools that support program management.
  • Consult with internal users of these applications to troubleshoot technical issues, understand functionality needs, and provide first-level user support.
  • Coordinate user acceptance testing (UAT) to ensure business requirements are satisfied and ensure proper UAT documentation is produced (based on use cases and test requirements).
  • Analyze data from software tools to identify trends, measure process effectiveness, and ensure compliance with organizational policies and procedures, developing and presenting metrics and insights to stakeholders to drive business outcomes.
  • Own and develop training materials for new functionality and software tool changes.
  • Communicate tool-related changes and status to program managers and SBU Management.
  • Maintain current industry knowledge of development concepts, best practices, and procedures for SharePoint Online, Power Apps, Power Automate, and SaaS solutions.
  • Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Capabilities Units and the Company. Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
  • Perform other duties as necessary.

On-Site Work Environment: This position requires regular in-person engagement by working on-site three or more days each normally scheduled week in the primary work location. Travel and local commute between company campuses and other possible non-company locations may be required.

  • Work is performed in an office environment, laboratory, cleanroom, or production floor.


Required Education, Experience, & Skills
  • BS/BA in related field plus 8 or more years related experience.
  • Each higher-level degree, i.e., Master's Degree or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of experience. Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education. Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education.
  • Proficient in SharePoint Online and Power Platform solutions, specifically Power Apps and Power Automate.
  • Experience with databases, cloud computing, SaaS, Gov Cloud, and On-Premise environments.
  • Experience with data analysis and metrics development.
  • Excellent commitment to customer service.
  • Experience with requirements gathering.
  • Ability to think analytically, solve problems, make decisions, and collaborate and work with a team.
  • Ability to juggle competing demands and priorities while maintaining strong attention to detail.

A security clearance or access with Polygraph is not required to be eligible for this position. However, the applicant must be willing and eligible for submission, depending on program requirements, after an offer is accepted and must be able to maintain the applicable clearance/access.

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
  • Knowledge of Project Management concepts.
  • Experience working in a Program Management Office (PMO).
  • Experience with Hexagon Ecosys PPM, IRIS Intelligence, Atlassian Confluence, and Atlassian JIRA.
  • Experience with Microsoft Power BI and data visualization software.
  • Experience with Excel VBA.
  • Experience with JSON/HTML/CSS or other software language.


Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $132962 - $226035

Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
