The Administrative Assistant, DEO Executive Support, provides high-level administrative, executive, and travel support to the CDC Division of Emergency Operations (DEO) Director, Deputy Director, and branch leadership. This role is responsible for managing complex domestic and international travel, executive calendars, financial and procurement systems, and time-sensitive administrative operations in a fast-paced federal environment.

This position supports a government contract and is restricted to U.S. citizens or legal permanent residents. Documentation is required.

This is a mission-critical role that requires independent judgment, discretion, and the ability to resolve issues in real time while supporting senior leadership.

Work Schedule & Location

This position is required to be on-site at the CDC DEO location in Atlanta, GA, five days per week during core program hours. Remote or hybrid work is not permitted due to the need for direct, real-time support to DEO leadership and the time-sensitive nature of executive travel and administrative functions.

Compensation & Benefits:

Estimated Starting Salary Range for Administrative Assistant, Executive Support: $65,000 - $67,000

Pay commensurate with experience.

Full-time benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, and other possible benefits as provided. Benefits are subject to change with or without notice.

Administrative Assistant, Executive Support Responsibilities Include:

Executive Travel & Operations
  • Process all domestic travel authorizations and vouchers through ConcurGov for DEO leadership and staff
  • Submit and manage international travel requests through the Global Travel System (GTS)
  • Provide real-time troubleshooting and resolution of travel issues, including overseas travel disruptions
  • Coordinate and manage travel for the DEO Director and Deputy Director, who travel 3-5 times per month
  • Provide travel guidance and coordination to branch leads and employees traveling internationally

Leadership & Calendar Management
  • Maintain and manage the DEO Director's calendar
  • Schedule meetings, briefings, and leadership engagements
  • Coordinate logistics for leadership and branch meetings
  • Support branch leads with scheduling and administrative needs

Financial & Administrative Systems
  • Process and track Undelivered Obligations (UDO) and support quarterly financial reviews
  • Submit and manage CCPS purchase card orders
  • Process and track training requests through the Vendor Supplied Training System (VSTS)
  • Generate administrative, financial, and operational reports as required

Administrative Support
  • Prepare correspondence, reports, and internal documentation
  • Maintain electronic and physical filing systems
  • Coordinate meetings and prepare materials
  • Provide high-level administrative support to DEO leadership and staff
  • Handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism


Administrative Assistant, Executive Support Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:
  • Associate's degree required; Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Minimum 4 years of administrative or executive support experience, preferably in a federal, government contracting, or high-volume environment
  • Demonstrated experience supporting senior leadership
  • Hands-on experience with federal systems, including:
  • ConcurGov
  • Global Travel System (GTS)
  • CCPS or government purchase card systems
  • UDO tracking or financial reconciliation
  • Vendor Supplied Training System (VSTS)
  • Strong ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and urgent requests
  • Ability to work independently and resolve problems without constant supervision
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Must pass the pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal
