Job Summary:
The Mission Specialist plays a critical role in supporting mission-critical operations, focusing on the planning, coordination, and execution of specialized projects. This position ensures mission success by leveraging technical expertise, coordinating between cross-functional teams, and ensuring that all operational and mission objectives are met in a timely and efficient manner.

Job Summary:
The Mission Specialist plays a critical role in supporting mission-critical operations, focusing on the planning, coordination, and execution of specialized projects. This position ensures mission success by leveraging technical expertise, coordinating between cross-functional teams, and ensuring that all operational and mission objectives are met in a timely and efficient manner.
Key Responsibilities:
Mission Planning and Execution
- Provide joint cryptographic troubleshooting and support for all users of the Milstar and AEHF systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, engineering, and logistics, to ensure mission readiness and efficiency.
- Provide updates to the AEHF Satellite Mission Control Subsystem Over the Air Rekey and ECU tables as new terminals are fielded.
- Ensure all mission-related activities comply with regulatory, safety, and operational requirements.
- Execute system administration functions for the Radiant Mercury Boundary Protection Device which requires Security Plus certification.
Data Analysis and Continuous Improvement
- Analyze mission data and provide actionable insights to improve mission performance.
- Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistency in mission execution.
- Prepare detailed mission reports, including after-action reviews and lessons learned for continuous process improvement.
Stakeholder Management and Communication
- Act as a primary point of contact for external stakeholders during mission-related activities.
- Provide training and guidance to junior team members on mission procedures and technical systems.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of mission-critical technologies, systems, and methodologies.
- Provide technical assistance to the Controlling Authority and Space Operations Command to all Milstar/AEHF cryptographic issues.
Risk Management and Safety
- Support risk management initiatives by identifying potential operational risks and developing mitigation strategies.
- Ensure that all mission activities adhere to safety and regulatory guidelines.
Qualifications:
- Clearance: Top Secret Clearance required, TS/SCI Eligible
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Aerospace, or a related technical field required, or combination of experience and education and Security Plus certification.
- Experience: 2+ years of experience in COMSEC and crypto, military satellite operations, or a related field.
- Required Skills:
- Strong technical background with experience in mission-critical environments.

- Excellent project management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple missions simultaneously.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools and mission management software.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective coordination across teams.
- Ability to make decisions under pressure and during high-stress mission events.
- Willingness to travel or work in mission environments as needed
- Preferred Skills:
- Experience with specific mission management software or data analysis tools.
- Advanced certifications in project management or relevant technical fields.
- Experience providing technical instruction to classes.
Work Environment/Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work in dynamic environments that may include fieldwork, technical monitoring, or remote operations.
- Capability to remain focused and perform tasks during long periods of mission activity.
- Occasional lifting of technical equipment or supplies (up to 30 lbs).
- High-paced mission environments, which may include both office and fieldwork settings.
- Some travel may be required for mission planning and execution.
- May involve extended hours during critical mission phases or in response to emergencies.
