Volt is immediately hiring for CNC Technician/ Optical Technician –in Richardson TX 75081
As a CNC Technician/ Optical Technician You will do:
You will work with Manufacture precision optics and optical components.
Read and interpret optical drawings/specs including GD&T. Interpret interferograms, CMM reports, and other metrology data.
Independently set up and operate lathes, fly cutters, polishing equipment, and other manual/CNC machines.
Use interferometers and CMMs to inspect parts for quality.
Collaborate with manufacturing engineering and technicians.
Maintain a clean and safe work area.
Job requires standing 80-90%, walking 10-20%, bending 20%, lifting < 15 lbs.
This is a 12-month, Full- time- Contract with possible extension opportunity.
Shift available: 1st & 2nd Shift
Ideal candidate must have:
Minimum 3 years of experience required with CNC / CMM/ lathes machines and programming.
Minimum Attention to detail and ability to follow directions. Strong geometry and trigonometry skills.
Multi-tasking skills for managing multiple machines. Dexterity handling delicate optical components.
Ability to work any shift including compressed schedules.
Preferred Skills:
Two-year technical degree preferred.
Basic knowledge of cutting tools, speeds, and feeds.
Experience measuring ultra-precision components.
Experience setting up and cutting freeform optical components.
CNC G-Code programming experience.
Experience with Calypso or DIFFSYS programming.
Experience with surface quality standards and inspection methods
Education:
High School Diploma
Pay Range: $25.00 - $ 29.96 per hour.
*Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
