Position Overview
Quantum Science Solutions (QSS) is seeking a Cyber Security Project Engineer to support the design, implementation, authorization, and secure operation of mission-critical systems in a classified environment located in McLean, VA.
This role supports Sponsor-facing technical teams responsible for delivering secure, compliant, and operationally effective systems across their full lifecycle. The Cyber Security Project Engineer will work closely with system engineers, security teams, and Sponsor stakeholders to ensure systems meet all cybersecurity, compliance, and authorization requirements, including achieving and maintaining Authority to Operate (ATO).

Key Responsibilities
• Design and implement secure communication solutions and network architectures
• Support the implementation of infrastructure in public cloud environments
• Support the Intelligence Community Directive (ICD) 503 Assessment & Accreditation (A&A) process
• Coordinate across multiple organizations to obtain and maintain Authority to Operate (ATO)
• Address and implement system security controls in accordance with Sponsor requirements
• Triage and troubleshoot system and security-related issues
• Produce and maintain technical system documentation
• Design and implement cloud-hosted infrastructure supporting mobile and commercial applications
• Support information security practices related to system design and operations
• Securely transfer, handle, and protect sensitive data
• Develop system design diagrams and architecture documentation
• Develop and brief system designs to both technical and non-technical audiences to obtain operational and security approvals
• Participate in technical exchange meetings with Sponsor stakeholders
• Support continuous monitoring and ongoing compliance activities
