Reporting to the Program Manager, the Inventory Specialist supports logistics and asset management operations by establishing, maintaining, and validating accurate inventories of technical and IT-related assets. This role coordinates closely with logistics and facilities personnel to ensure assets are properly tracked throughout their lifecycle, supporting program execution, risk reduction, and data integrity. The Inventory Specialist contributes to maintaining program schedules through effective inventory control, record management, and data analysis on the Weapons Analysis Facility (WAF) Operational Support Services contract. This position is located in Newport, RI.

The Inventory Specialist contributes to maintaining program schedules through effective inventory control, record management, and data analysis on the Weapons Analysis Facility (WAF) Operational Support Services contract. This position is located in Newport, RI.
What You'll Do
- Establish, maintain, and manage inventories of WAF assets, including but not limited to hard drives, computers, network switches, circuit boards, and other designated hardware.
- Update and maintain accurate asset records within designated databases and inventory tracking systems.
- Organize and manage inventory data using spreadsheets to ensure accuracy and readiness for required deliverables.
- Apply barcodes and asset tags to newly acquired hardware in accordance with established procedures.
- Conduct physical inventories, tracking and verifying asset locations and status.
- Analyze inventory and asset data generated from automated scripts within Windows and Linux environments.
- Support senior logistics personnel in identifying, assessing, and mitigating inventory-related risks.
- Assist in improving inventory control processes and recommending efficiencies to support program schedules.
- Bid and proposal support if requested.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- An active secret clearance is required to be considered for this position.
- HS Diploma required.
- One (1) years of experience providing logistics and inventory support for technical, IT, or hardware assets and their associated databases and tracking systems in a U.S. Navy, DoD, or federal environment required.
- Must possess basic computer literacy and data entry skills.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (to include MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills.
- Must possess strong time management skills.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced, changing, and challenging environment.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.
Desired Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited university is desired.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to remain seated in a stationary position 50% of the time. Must also be able to alternate between sitting, standing, and walking.
