The Boeing Company has an exciting opportunity for a Systems Engineering Tech - Experienced or Senior, to join the F/A-18 Advanced Mission Systems team located in Berkeley, MO. This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) business organization.

BDS is a global leader in the development, production, maintenance and enhancement of fixed-wing and rotary wing aircraft, commercial and government satellites, human spaceflight programs and weapons. Key markets include aeronautics, space and weapons. Core capabilities are in development, production and mission enabling upgrades of integrated solutions. BDS delivers the most digitally advanced, simply and efficiently produced and intelligently supported solutions to its customers.

The successful candidate will enable the Mission Systems organization to continue to expand its business base and will participate in advancing aircraft technology. This role will support the integration of aircraft mission avionics systems while working in a collaborative environment utilizing SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework). The team is responsible for developing system/subsystem requirements, participating with Software engineers with real-time Operational Flight Program (OFP) development, subsystem/system testing, and evaluating system performance in Flight Test. The selected candidate will have the opportunity to play a key role supporting the F/A-18 Super Hornet and Growler fleet. Experience with avionics technology is a plus.

Position Responsibilities:
  • Support systems/specialty engineers in defining requirements, developing trade studies, performing analyses, and controlling associated data and information.
  • Communicate with multi-disciplinary teams and across levels of program and technical leadership.
  • Facilitate program and technical meetings, capturing minutes and documenting action items.
  • Develop and support implementation of engineering processes, tools and procedures.
  • Identify, collect, analyze, and organize execution data (metrics) to support management of the program.
  • Provide technical support to all engineering activities.
  • Train, coach, and mentor others.
  • Work under minimal direction.


This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at Berkeley, MO.

Travel may be required up to 5% of the time; Domestically depending on business needs.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
  • 3 years' related work experience (familiarity with engineering processes and best practices)

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Experience in interdisciplinary engineering planning, design, development, integration, and validation and verification of avionics and/or electronics including hardware and software
  • Experience developing products in an Agile development environment
  • Experience developing Avionics products and technologies


Typical Education/Experience:

Experienced (Level 3)

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Associate) and typically 3 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Bachelor+1 years' related work experience, 5 years' related work experience, etc.).

Senior (Level 4)

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Associate) and typically 6 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Bachelor+4 years' related work experience, 8 years' related work experience, etc.).

Summary pay range (Experienced): $64,600 - $87,400

Summary pay range (Senior): $80,750 - $109,250
